Lair Hill Park utility work begins this fall

Crews will begin underground construction beginning in September

This fall, our crews will install new underground power lines along several neighborhood streets in Lair Hill Park. The new underground lines will service the growing OHSU campus, and ultimately support the greater community.

Much of this work will occur during the day. However, nighttime work along SW Naito Parkway is required to avoid significant traffic impacts along the major commuter highway. The areas requiring nighttime work are marked on the map.

Your utility service will not be interrupted during this work.

Access safety plans and detours will be in place for traffic, cyclists and pedestrians. Street parking will be needed to conduct this work safely, as the contractor will open streets to install new underground power lines. Anticipated completion for this work is slated for early 2019.

Weekend work may be needed, and our crews will comply with the City of Portland’s and Oregon Department of Transportation’s permitting requirements.

OHSU Urban Project benefits

The new underground power line upgrades are important to Lair Hill Park and the greater community, as our crews work consider the growth of the neighborhoods just outside of the downtown corridor.

Rebuilding, upgrading and safeguarding our energy grid is our commitment to deliver reliable, affordable and safe power to homes and businesses in our service area. This project is one of many enhancements we are making to modernize our grid and create a platform for a clean energy future.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work to make electric service smarter and more reliable.
